Commission: My Pokemon Team

Featured here is my trainer character Grant Masters with his Pokemon team, which is based on my own HeartGold team:

Grant Masters (Pokemon Trainer)
- Human (male) - Age 19
- Hometown: Azalea Town, Johto
- Cares greatly about his Pokemon.
- Usually laidback and easygoing, but gets flustered by Lanolin IV’s insubordination.
- Very knowledgeable; selects his team with care.
- Values companionship with Pokemon over victory in battle.
- Prefers to let Pokemon grow naturally and encourages them to devise their own battle strategies; does not go out of his way to train Pokemon.
- More interested in developing camaraderie among teammates than winning battles.

"Fyremine"
- Cyndaquil > Quilava > Typhlosion (male) - Lv 42
- Obtained as Starter Pokemon in Violet City Pokemon Center
- Fyremine is considerably mellow for a Typhlosion. This is due in part to Grant’s training, which emphasizes keeping a cool head in the heat of battle.
- All of his coolness is lost, however, when he contends with the uncooperative Lanolin IV.
- Due to both his seniority and his rationality, Fyremine is seen as the unofficial leader among Grant’s Pokemon.
- In battle, Fyremine uses a variety of diverse moves, such as Aerial Ace, Dig, and Flame Wheel.

"Fiddlestyx"
- Farfetch’d (female) - Lv 25
- Obtained in Ilex Forest alongside Coco Nuts
- Fiddlestyx is remarkably (fool-)hardy for a Farfetch’d. She loves to battle and would give her all in battle, despite often overwhelming odds.
- Unfortunately, nearly every battle she partook in would result in a new injury, eventually leading to her (forced) early retirement.
- Fiddlestyx no longer actively battles due to accumulated injuries, but she often coaches her teammates from the sidelines.
- 11 years ago, Fiddlestyx saved Grant from drowning in a river. Then Coco Nuts had to save Fiddlestyx because she couldn’t swim.

"Coco Nuts"
- Exeggutor (male) - Lv 27
- Obtained in Ilex Forest alongside Fiddlestyx
- Coco Nuts is certainly the least serious member of the team, his three heads constantly cracking each other up with corny jokes. In periods of great tension, he will try to lighten the mood with a few jokes.
- Coco Nuts is very loyal to Fiddlestyx, who was his best friend even before they met Grant. Even though Coco Nuts’ constant yammering can get on Fiddlestyx's nerves, she is grateful for his companionship.
- Coco Nuts favors a more indirect battle strategy, using tactics such as a “Sleep Powder/Dream Eater” combination.
- As much as he likes to battle, he often chooses to sit out of battle in order to keep Fiddlestyx company.

"Lanolin IV"
- Flaaffy > Ampharos (female) - Lv 42
- Obtained from a breeder outside Goldenrod City
- Descended from a long line of prize-winning Contest Pokemon, Lanolin IV behaves very much like a spoiled diva.
- Lanolin IV has a stubborn independence streak and has absolutely no respect for either Grant’s or Fyremine’s authority. This instigates many a quarrel between her and Fyremine, and gives Grant a headache.
- As she was originally bred to perform in Contests, Lanolin IV prefers to use flashy special-based attacks, such as ThunderBolt and Signal Beam.
- In battle, she can actually cooperate well with Fyremine, so long as they share a common goal.

"Crash Boom"
- Rhydon (male) - Lv 57
- Obtained in Johto Safari Zone from a older Gentleman
- The oldest and wisest member of the team, Crash Boom believes wholeheartedly in Grant’s training philosophy, and dislikes it when the other Pokemon quarrel.
- Usually his sheer looming presence is enough to dispel any argument.
- Despite his great size and power, Crash Boom is actually quite docile, and has a particular soft spot for children.
- He harbors a secret crush on Nellie, but worries that he might be too old for her.
- Crash Boom may be old and slow, but he is an absolute powerhouse, ready to give any young opponent a run for their money.

"Nellie"
- Lapras (female) - Lv 32
- Obtained in Johto Safari Zone
- Nellie is quite literally the “Team Mom” of the group, treating everyone (especially Grant) as if they were indeed her children.
- Like any good mother, Nellie gets distressed when her “children” fight, and works quickly to try to restore peace after a period of great tension.
- Besides serving the obvious role of sea transport, Nellie usually battles alongside Crash Boom in order to cover his weaknesses to water and special-based attacks.
- Despite this closeness, Nellie remains ignorant of Crash Boom’s feelings for her.
